Smoke House Blues



   As we last left the Shadowrunning FATGOP, a new pal "Skip" had 
just told them he could lead them to the old Smoke House, where Billy 
and the Progressive Church folks were likely hiding out. And also 
arriving at the town-park was a familiar character. It was an old 
fellow-runner Jericho. Turns our he has about the same mission as us, 
so he joins us. After some Skip package deliveries, and after Otto 
gets an RPS (delivery) hat .. Skip leads us off into the woods. On 
some road, he says its about a 20-30 klick foot-hike into the smoke 
house. We all pile in Rabid's 4-by truck and after a bouncy ride, get 
about 3/4's of the way to the smoke house. Its about 8pm in the 
evening and we hike onward. We see a speck of light ahead, and our 
astral-folks scan it abit and find two guards outside and one person 
in the lit snoke house.   The FATGOP team sort of circles towards the 
guards and starts an brief silent firefight, squishing the guards. 
Inside the smoke house, there is no one. Skip notices the 
cleared-field out in front and thinks that wasn't cleared when he was 
here as a boy. Hmm. The astral people get that bad-juju astral 
feeling they had at the Mernon's River town-hall slaughter-o-rama 
place. Some brief astral recon reveals bad juju feeling in tunnels 
under the smoke house. The dead guards are found out to be Cascade 
Orks. Grunt pulls up the trapdoor and FATGOP piles downstairs.
     Down aways, singing is heard, and Bullok and Panther go around
the corner to check. The report a man-in-robes on the stage, a man in 
tattered-clothes off to the side, maybe 40 people hanging out 
singing... and then they say nothing, over the our radio-link. After 
a sizable pause Grunt radio's a "hello?". Still nothing. Christian, 
Jericho and Grunt rush around the corner, while Otto, Rabid and 
Taylor plan to go astral. As they round the corner, Jericho turns his 
gun on Christian and says "nothing personal Christian, but business 
is business" and proceeds to blast-away at point-blank range at 
Christian. Christian is not pleased, gets quite wounded but survives, 
and starts hacking away at Jericho with his die-cut katana sword. 
Grunt ignores this and cuts the man-in-robes in half with a big burst 
from his machine-gun. Bullok and Panther are entranced it seems, and
actually turn on their fellows, with thoughts of shooting at us.
Christian succeeds is killing Jericho and Grunt rushes Bullok and 
tackles him, to try and slap some sense into him. The astral 
FATGOPPERS check astral space in the room, but figure there is little 
they can do there, so return to their bodies. Bullok finally returns 
to his senses.. but oh no, not Panther. He begins to unload his H&K 
on Otto and Rabid. His quickness eludes Grunts grasping attempts, as 
well as Rabids brief "Chaotic world' spell which disables Grunt 
briefly. After grenade-ing an ork to pieces, Bullok sees something 
dark and runs out of the room, scared out of his wits. Something 
forces Rabid to drop his "chaotic world" spell quickly. Otto fires at 
the tattered-clothes man and the bullets just sink in, with no 
effect. So he and others blast away at Orks that are defending the 
room.
    Back up the hallway from where we came (trap door direction)
some noises are heard. And Bullok realizes someone has stopped his 
mad dash back up the hallway, and "calmed" him down. Hmm......
