Here are four photos of an Aircraft Spruce Air/Oil Separator, plumbed to a Fairchild 24 Ranger.

The oil drain from the Separator was once temporarily hooked to a plastic bottle (vented to atmosphere) and flown.  Very little oil went to the bottle, while a lot went to the belly.
