We established Rokida Fjords eleven years ago. We will never forget that first visit - we drove over pipe gates to see Fjord horses in a large field and were mobbed by them. They were in the back of the truck pulling things out, and noses in the cab to be petted. That was it! Forget about just a team, which was our original plan. I had to have those fuzzy babies on the farm. From there we started looking around at more Fjords, and decided that we wanted the larger type. They just suited our purposes better. We have been so pleased with the breed as a whole, and had so much fun with them! Our philosophy has been to produce a few quality Fjords each year.

We usually have three to six brood mares. This small herd gives us ample time to imprint foals, and handle horses daily. We have had all of our broodstock evaluated, and have kept the best for our herd. Our stallions and mares are correct in conformation, and have willing, pleasant temperaments. Valea's Lee, our senior stallion, has four sons standing at stud. Of those, two have been evaluated with blue ribbons, and one with a high red. We are proud of the stallions we stand and the stock we sell
