"Like glimpses of forgotten dreams." ~~Tennyson
DREAMS
For several years during my youth I recorded my dreams daily. I developed
a skill in retrieving remarkably complex sequences of dreams and capturing
them on paper. There were several hundred pages of dreams written while
I was still a teen, which are lost somewhere in my parents' basement-- misplaced
or thrown out.
Later, I went through a stage where I discarded the importance of dreams
because they were part of the past and I was determined to live in the present,
the Now. Later still, I came to another new place that recognized that dreams
can be tools to help us grow by revealing things to us about ourselves.
Also, as is apparent from Scripture, history and experience, there are times
when God speaks to us in dreams.
Of dreaming, Jung writes, "The dream is the small hidden door in the
deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul." What follows here,
when I find time to record them, are a few of the more interesting or significant
dreams I have had over the years. I look forward to sharing them with you
as I am able.
