CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF AN IN SITU SOIL & GROUNDWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

The Remedial Action Plan/Corrective Action Design for this site called for in situ treatment of soil and ground water contaminated with gasoline. Ground water treatment was achieved through the use of an air sparging system with a total of twenty-two (22) sparge points.

 

Soil treatment was done with a vapor recovery system. EBI placed new piping across the site to connect both systems into a portable equipment trailer. We constructed the mechanical equipment, trailer and pipe headers during the winter. Site activities were completed after frost left the ground in May 1996.

Where: Dwyer Fire Site Beloit, WI

When: May 1997 through March 1998

This contract called for the construction of a soil and groundwater treatment system. Ground water treatment was achieved through the use of an air sparging system with a total of 22 sparge/extraction points.

 

Soil treatment was done with a vapor recovery system. EBI placed new piping across the site to connect both systems into a pre-engineered metal building. Site activities were completed in March 1998

I-94 LONG HAUL TEL TEC, INC.

Who: Tel Tec, Inc.

Where: I-94 Eau Claire, Wisconsin

When: August 2000

Size: $35K

 

EBI was hired as a Subcontractor by TEL TEC, Inc. to install 6-2" HDPE fiber optic conduit along Interstate 94 by Eau Claire, Wisconsin. EBI completed almost 3,000 feet for the project. The length of bores ranged from 122' to 583' including a stream crossing.

BURLINGTON NORTHERN DUST SUPPRESSION WATER LINE

Who: Burlington Northern Railway

Where: Superior, Wisconsin

When: February 2002

Size: $98K

 

EBI was contracted by Burlington Northern Railway to install an 8-inch HDPE water line at their taconite facility in Superior, Wisconsin. A total of 3,800 feet of water line was installed by directional drilling. This was the only practical method to install the line across wetlands as well as parallel to a taconite loading dock. Traditional open cut methods could not have been used in these two areas.

HERTEL WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Who: McCabe Construction

Where: Hertel, Wisconsin

When: September 2003

Size: $120,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract by McCabe Construction to install a new water main for the St. Croix Tribe in Hertel, Wisconsin. EBI installed all by directional drilling 2,800 feet of 10-inch HDPE water main. The drilling was necessary to avoid impacts to wetlands and roadways.

ROCK RIVER WATER MAIN CROSSING

Who: GMS Excavators

Where: Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin

When: October 2003

Size: $44,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from GMS Excavators to install a new water main across the rock River in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin. EBI installed all by direction drilling 490 feet of 18-inch HDPE water main. The drilling was the only option to cross the river.

TOMORROW RIVER CROSSING

Who: Jossart Brothers

Where: Amherst, Wisconsin

When: December 2003

Size: $58,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from Jossart Brothers to install a new water main along US Highway 10 and across Tomorrow River in Amherst, Wisconsin. EBI installed all by directional drilling 1,400 feet of 10-inch HDPE water main. The drilling was the only option to cross the river and to reduce the project cost by eliminating expensive restoration along US Highway 10.

EAST GATEWAY PUBLIC UTILITIES

Who: Van Staten Construction

Where: Waupaca, Wisconsin

When: February 2004

Size: $100,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from Van Straten Construction to conduct two 2,000 foot crossings of the Waupaca river and adjoining wetlands just East of Waupaca, Wisconsin. EBI successfully installed the 8-inch HDPE force main and the 12-inch HDPE water main without complications and in two weeks.

2004 UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS

Who: S. J. Louis Construction

Where: Rice Lake, Wisconsin

When: December 2004

Size: $18,500.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from S. J. Louis Construction for the installation by directional drilling of a 16-inch HDPE water main and a 6-inch HDPE duct as part of the 2004 Utility Improvements Project in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. The total amount of pipe installed was 600 feet. EBI completed the project in 2 days.

WOLF RIVER & RASMUSSEN CANAL CROSSINGS

When: December 2004

EBI was awarded a contract from the City of New London for the installation by directional drilling of a 12-inch HDPE water main as part of the Wolf River and Rasmussen Canal Crossings Project in New London, Wisconsin. The toal amount of pipe installed across the two water bodies was 530 feet. EBI completed the project in three days.

K-TOWN/DRY TOWN INTERTIE WATER MAIN

Where: Hayward, Wisconsin

When: July 2005

EBI was awarded a subcontract from LCO Development Co. for the installation by directional drilling of a 12-inch HDPE water main as part of the K-Town/Dry Town Intertie Water Main on the Lac Courte Oreille Indian Reservation in Hayward, Wisconsin. The work consisted on installing 1,700 feet of 12-inch HDPE. The highlight of the project was the installation on one 1,100' shot across a wetland. the work was completed in four days.

EBI was awarded a subcontract from A-1 Excavating for the installation by directional drilling of a 12-inch HDPE water main, and 8-inch HDPE water main and a 4-inch HDPE force main as part of the East Side Utility Project in Cumberland, Wisconins. The highlights of the project was the installation of 1,400 feet of both the 12-inch HDPE water main and the 4-inch HDPE force main across Beaver Dam Lake each in one shot.

EBI was awarded a subcontract from A-1 Excavating for the installation by directional drilling of a 4-inch HDPE force main as part of the Pattison Park Sewer Reconstruction Project in Superior, Wisconsin/Douglas County. A total of 2,400 feet of HDPE pipe was installed for the project. The installation was completed in two shots with the longest being 1,600 feet.

EBI was awarded a contract from New London Utilities for the installation by directional drilling of a 12-inch HDPE water main as part of the Wolf River Crossing Project in New London, Wisconsin. The proiject had two crossings of the Wolf River totaling 800 feet. The installation was completed in two days.

Where: Antigo, Wisconsin

When: October 2006

EBI was awarded a subcontract from A-1 Excavating for the installation, by directional drilling, of a 12-inch DIPS HDPE water main for the Water and Wastewater Improvements Project in Antigo, Wisconsin. A total of 1,140 feet of 12-inch water main was installed in three shots that went across Spring Brook twice and a County Highway. The bores were completed in three working days.

TIF PHASE 1 SANITARY SEWER/WATER MAIN EXTENSION

Who: PTS Contractors

Where: Suamico, Wisconsin

When: January 2006

EBI was awarded a subcontract from PTS Contractors for the installation by directional drilling of various sizes of HDPE sanitary sewer, force main and water main as part of the TIF Phase 1 Sanitary/Water Main Extension Project in Suamico, Wisconsin. A total of 960' of 12" sanitary sewer, 700' of 10" sanitary sewer 1,350' of 10" force main and 1,350' of 14" water main was installed in approximately 3 weeks during January 2006.

EBI was awarded a subcontract from A-1 Excavating for the installation, by directional drilling, of a 12-inch HDPE DIPS water main and a 12-inch HDPE DIPS sanitary sewer for a new WalMart Supercenter in Medford, Wisconsin. The 12-inch water main totaled 1,300 feet long and the sanitary sewer total 1,950 feet and was installed at a grade of 0.5 percent.

EBI was awarded a subcontract from A-1 Excavating for the installation, by directional drilling, of a 12-inch HDPE IPS water main and a 6-inch HDPE DIPS force main sewer for the 2007 Street and utility Improvements in Hixton, Wisconsin. Both the mains were completed in one shot at 1,150 feet each and went under I-90 and the associated access ramps.

 

US 2 UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1 #133


Who: RJS CONSTRUCTION GROUP

Where: Ashland, Wisconsin

When: September, 2007

Size: $114,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from RJS Construction Group for the installation, by directional drilling of a 8-inch HDPE DIPS water main for the US Highway 1 Utility Improvements Phase 1 Project in Ashland, Wisconsin. A total of 6,177 feet of water main was installed along Highway 2 and a connecting city street.

 

WESTON POWER PLANT DUST SUPPRESSION LINE #135


Who: JAMES PETERSON & SONS

Where: Wausau, Wisconsin

When: September, 2007

Size: $110,000.00

 

EBI was awarded a subcontract from James Peterson & Sons for the installation, by directional drilling, of a 10-inch HDPE IPS water main and 4-inch HDPE IPS water main for a dust suppression line at the Weston Power Plant in Wausau, Wisconsin. To reduce surface impacts as well as to minimize disruptions in the power plant yard both the 10-inch and the 4-inch were pulled in together.
