Spring is coming soon and we are looking forward to our Annual Meeting
on March 11, 2008. We hope we see many of you there to take part in your
Township government.
We do have some news to report about Supervisor Al Anderson. Al has
retired from St. Louis County Public Works as well as resigning from the
Town Board. Al was a wonderful public servant. He served the Township in
many ways. He was the Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Commission as
well as the Joint Powers Board. He was our voice in our dealings with
St. Louis County. Al was always there to help in any way he could, to
make Canosia Township a better place for our residents. He will be
greatly missed by this Board and by the residents of Canosia. We wish Al
many, many years of enjoyable retirement.
We have just completed our budget meeting for 2009 and are pleased to
report that we are not recommending an increase in our levy. We are
extremely pleased to report this to our residents. We are looking
forward to the Lindahl Road improvement project, slated to begin this
spring. Our new fire truck will be arriving soon and it will be a
wonderful addition to our Fire Department.
We have also completed the survey of the Caribou Lake Wastewater
Project. The residents of Canosia Township, who were included in the
proposed project, were sent a survey to complete and return to the Town
Clerk. They were also encouraged to share their comments on the proposed
project. The results are as follows: 98 surveys were sent out and 83 were returned (85%).
Thank you to all of the residents who responded and shared comments.
