Culvert Policy    

The St. Louis County Wetland Plan is implementing a policy which was authorized under the Wetland Conservation Act and is an amendment to the County Water Plan, Ordinance #27. In Section 2.04 of the Wetland Plan it states:

The County Planning Department shall be notified of all new culverts being installed on County, State and Towns Highways when those culverts are for new access to property or in lieu of such notification appropriate jurisdiction shall give the individual receiving the culvert information regarding wetlands. There should also be a statement given to all those receiving a culvert that the issuance of this access does not imply any County approval of wetland impacts. This policy does not apply to the replacement of existing culverts.
