BIG JIG Nearly 1,800 people competed for prizes in the “Big Jig” fishing contest held on Pike Lake on February 13, 2005. The event is a fund raiser for University of Minnesota Duluth athletic scholarships. The top ten finishers all won prizes with either suckers or perch, all but two of them weighing less than one pound.
Derek Rubenzer of Tony, WI, won first place and a new Toyota truck by catching a 1.54 pound sucker.

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
The Proctor American Legion Post #106 is planning to honor the veterans at a ceremony at the Canosia Cemetery on Memorial Day, May 30, 2005 at 1:30 PM.
 

 This is a time for remembrance and an opportunity to visit with neighbors. Coffee and lemonade will be served by the Historical Society after the ceremony.
