Canosia Township Resolution 2003-6
 

WHEREAS, Canosia Township adopted Ordinance No. 91-1: Animal Control Ordinance on May 1, 1991,
WHEREAS, the ordinance regulates animals which are defined as a public nuisance,
WHEREAS, an animal which does any of the following is a public nuisance:
Habitually worries, chases or molests other animals or persons traveling peaceably in any public place.
Unreasonably annoys, injures or endangers the safety, health, comfort or repose of any person. Interferes with, obstructs or renders dangerous for passage any public highway or right-of-way or waters used by the public. Chases vehicles, excessively makes disturbing noises including, but not limited to, continued and/or repeated howling, barking or other sounds causing unreasonable annoyance or discomfort to neighbors or others in close proximity to the premises where the animal is kept or is found.
WHEREAS, the Canosia Town Board has the authority to employ an animal control officer to enforce the ordinance,
WHEREAS, the Canosia Town Board has the authority to set fines and fees as designated in the ordinance,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CANOSIA TOWN BOARD establishes that dog owners shall pay to the Township: An annual fee of $10.00 for dog licenses for dogs kept in the Township and shall be renewed on January 1st of each year. The license fee shall not be pro-rated;
 

A boarding fee of $10.00 per day for any dog impounded under the ordinance; and
A fine of $150.00 from the owner of any dog impounded under the ordinance.
ADOPTED the 6th day of August, 2003, EFFECTIVE the 1st day of October, 2003.
