Goal Reached
Paul Remde in N135EX Prior happy owner |
The custom-built aluminum trailer is a full-length, spring-loaded, pop-up-top which allows full access to the cockpit without removing the fuselage or wings. The trailer tows nicely behind sports cars. The glossy red Imron finish is lots of fun, especially at large contests ... when you fly over the local shopping center, even the non-contestants know it's you.
You will be buying an LLC; thus, no sales tax --- LLC which protects you from liability just like a corporation, especially significant if you have partners (share-holders), and from sales or use tax in MN and other states that base the tax on place of registration. New owners may buy ownership of the LLC, which owns the glider, without moving to MN. There is no annual fee to maintain good standing with Secretary of State in MN.
This sailplane has been routinely and comfortably used by tall pilots, I'm 72 inches. Seat adjustment and a thick, comfortable cushion, make it fine for a 68" pilot and probably much shorter. Tons of hip room Visibility on approach, with flaps, is outstanding, as the approach attitude is nose-low. Once seated, all of the controls "fall nicely to the hand". Trim is a semi-automatic squeeze lever on joystick. Flap lever is the newer style single-lever vs the earlier dual-lever version.
Amazingly I notice that immediately after take-off, there is about one more inch of head room. (Is this Einstein's theory of relativity at work?)
This sailplane type is actively supported by and excellent website by Tom Rent and owners:

| A very rugged sailplane which can be landed out with
confidence. Full
